What is BMO Harris Mobile BankingSM 1?
BMO Harris Mobile Banking gives you access to your accounts via m.bmoharris.com or a downloadable Mobile Banking application for the iPhone®, iPad® or AndriodTM mobile devices. Mobile Banking allows you to view account balances, view recent transactions, transfer funds, pay bills2, deposit checks3 and find ATMs and branch locations.
How do I activate BMO Harris Mobile Banking?
Before activating BMO Harris Mobile Banking1, you must first enroll in BMO Harris Online BankingSM. Enroll in online banking.
You can activate BMO Harris Mobile Banking1 directly from your mobile phone by going to m.bmoharris.com and selecting Continue to Mobile Banking. You can also download the BMO Harris Mobile applications directly from the Apple® App StoreTM or Google PlayTM. You will then be prompted to agree to the Mobile Banking, Text Messaging and Remote Deposit Service Enrollment End User Terms in order to activate4.
Is the BMO Harris Mobile Banking service secure?
Yes, the BMO Harris Mobile Banking1 service utilizes best practices from BMO Harris Online Banking, including your customized User ID and password, 128-bit SSL encryption, and data encryption4. Additionally, to protect your privacy, we will sign you out of Mobile Banking after 5 minutes of inactivity. Only the phones that you personally activate for Mobile Banking can access your accounts. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your phone. And in the event your phone is lost or stolen, the service can be immediately disabled by calling 1-888-340-2265.
How much does this service cost?
BMO Harris does not charge for Mobile Banking services. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless carrier for details.
I'm not enrolled in BMO Harris Online Banking. Can I still use BMO Harris Mobile Banking?
You must first enroll in BMO Harris Online Banking before you can activate Mobile Banking. Go to bmoharris.com to get started.
What is BMO Harris Mobile Deposit?
BMO Harris Mobile Deposit2 allows you to deposit a check into an eligible BMO Harris Checking, Savings, or Money Market Account using your Apple® or AndroidTM mobile devices. BMO Harris Mobile Deposit is available on the iPhone®, iPad® and AndroidTM mobile devices only and is subject to eligibility. You must be a customer of BMO Harris Bank for at least 90 days prior to becoming eligible for BMO Harris Mobile Deposit.
Why can't I access BMO Harris Mobile Deposit?
To access Mobile Deposit2 through the iPhone®, iPad® or AndroidTM app, you must have at least one eligible BMO Harris Checking, Savings, or Money Market Account. Customers are subject to eligibility requirements. You must be a customer of BMO Harris Bank for at least 90 days prior to becoming eligible for BMO Harris Mobile Deposit.
Why are my check images being rejected?
For the best image results, lay your check on a flat, dark surface with adequate lighting. Hold the camera steady and make sure all four corners of the check are captured. Also make sure you have endorsed the back of the check.
What types of checks are not able to be deposited through BMO Harris Mobile Deposit?
US Savings Bonds, foreign checks, and many rebate checks will not be accepted by BMO Harris Mobile Deposit.
What should I do with the check after I've deposited it?
Please retain the check for 15 Business Days after you have submitted the check for deposit. After 15 Business Days and you have verified that the funds have been credited to your account, you should shred and securely discard the check. Do not attempt to deposit the check again.
My check was successfully deposited. When will the funds be available for withdrawal?
Deposits through BMO Harris Mobile Deposit2 are processed based on the time the deposit was submitted. If we receive the deposit on or before 7:00 p.m. Central Time (CT) on a Business Day, we will consider that day the day of deposit. If we receive the deposit after 7:00 p.m. Central Time (CT), or on a weekend or other non-Business Day, we will consider the next Business Day as the day of deposit. For approved checks deposited into Checking Accounts, the first $200 of the deposit will be available 1 Business Day after the day of deposit. Any amount in excess of $200 will be available 2 Business Days after the day of deposit. For approved checks deposited into Savings or Money Market Accounts, all funds will be available 2 Business Days after the day of deposit.
What are the deposit limits associated with BMO Harris Mobile Deposit?
Customers cannot deposit more than $2,500 through BMO Harris Mobile Deposit2 on any single day. Customers cannot deposit more than $5,000 through BMO Harris Mobile Deposit over any 10 Business Day span.
I activated BMO Harris Mobile BankingSM on my phone's browser. Why am I being asked to activate again?
At the time of activation a “cookie” is stored on your phone's browser which allows the BMO Harris Mobile Banking system to remember that you activated the Mobile Banking service1. The cookie is only visible by the Mobile Banking system and does not contain personal information. Some devices may require you to enable cookies or periodically erase them, requiring reactivation or additional security confirmation via challenge questions. If you are experiencing this issue, check your phone settings to ensure that cookies are enabled. If cookies are enabled and the issue persists, please contact your mobile network carrier for cookie support information on your mobile phone.
What if my mobile device is lost or stolen?
If you are concerned about misuse of your phone, contact your mobile service provider immediately to stop all wireless service. Additionally, you can have Mobile Banking disabled on your phone by calling 1-888-340-2265.

2. BMO Harris Mobile Deposit is available for iPhone®, iPad® and AndroidTM Apps only. Users must be BMO Harris Online Banking customers who have had a BMO Harris deposit account for more than 90 days. Deposits are not immediately available for withdrawal and will be available as set forth in the BMO Harris Mobile End User Terms. To review the End User Terms, sign on to BMO Harris Online Banking, select Mobile Settings, click the button to Launch Mobile Portal, and click Terms and Conditions.
