Thomas O'Neill is Head, Special Assets Corporate Real Estate Portfolio, BMO Financial Corp. He joined BMO as part of the acquisition of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation in July 2011.
O'Neill is responsible for strategy and execution of the management of BMO's impaired commercial real estate portfolio in the U.S. His responsibilities include the successful reduction of the impaired asset portfolio and return of capital to the organization. His duties include the management of the Special Asset Management Unit for commercial real estate, U.S.
Previously, O'Neill served as Senior Vice President of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation, responsible for the company's special asset strategies and a member of the bank's executive planning committee. O'Neill joined M&I in 1985, holding a number of senior positions within the bank.
O'Neill earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Management from Beloit College and is now serving on its board of trustees. Additionally, he serves on a number of other non-profit boards including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Competitive WI, Inc. and the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation.
