Barry McInerney is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of BMO Global Asset Management and the Chief Executive Officer of BMO Asset Management – U.S. & International. BMO's U.S. asset management operations have expanded and now include BMO Asset Management U.S., BMO Funds, BMO Retirement Services, BMO Trust & Custody Services, and two investment specialist boutiques - Monegy, and Taplin, Canida & Habacht. BMO's international asset management operations have also expanded and now include Lloyd George Management, Pyrford International, BMO Funds (UCITS – Dublin), BMO Asset Management Asia, and BMO Asset Management Middle East North Africa. Our global presence includes offices in Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Chicago, Dublin, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, London, Miami, Milwaukee, Montreal, Mumbai, Shanghai, Singapore, and Toronto.
Prior to joining BMO Financial Group in early 2009, Mr. McInerney was Managing Director, Americas Institutional for Russell Investments where he served as a member of Russell’s Global Management Committee and the Russell Trust Company Board. Prior to Russell, Mr. McInerney spent 19 years with Mercer Inc. where he held a number of senior leadership positions including President of Mercer Global Investments in the U.S. and globally, President & Chairman of the Mercer Trust Company, and President of Mercer Investment Consulting in the U.S. and Canada.
Mr. McInerney holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, where he also earned a bachelor's degree in Commerce and Finance. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is a member of the CFA Institute and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
Mr. McInerney is a member of the Board of Trustees of Roosevelt University and the Board of Directors of Heartland Alliance. He is also a member of The Economic Club of Chicago, The Executives' Club of Chicago, and the University Club of Chicago.
