Finding your Nearest Branch

To help limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of customers, team members, and the communities where the bank operates, BMO will temporarily close lobby access at select branches. Most Drive-up service will continue to be available. These changes will take effect March 18, and will be in place until further notice.

In the event of a branch closure, customers can find the closest open branch by visiting the BMO Harris branch locator. The branch locator will have updated information on whether a branch is open or closed. Open branches and drive-ups will operate on a reduced schedule.

How do I reach Customer Service?

How do I make a car payment online?


You can make a car payment from your BMO Harris checking or savings account using online banking. After enrolling in online banking, you’ll need to sign up for BMO Harris Bill Pay®.

You can also use BMO Harris Express Loan PaySM to make convenient same-day payments to your BMO Harris loan or mortgage from any bank account. To make a payment or for more information about this service, go to the Express Loan Pay page.

How do I set up automatic debit to make my car payments?


To make car payments with automatic debit at BMO Harris, start by filling out an Automatic Debit Payment Form. Instructions are included on the form.

When you’re finished, mail your form to BMO Harris Bank, Loan Maintenance, P.O. Box 2045, Milwaukee, WI 53201, or fax it to 262-938-8169.

How do I access my car loan online?


To access your BMO Harris car loan online, you’ll first need to enroll in online banking.

Please note: Customers who only have a car loan with us and some Small Business Banking customers may not be eligible for self-enrollment. If you’re not able to complete the enrollment process yourself, please call us at 1-888-340-2265 and we’ll help you enroll.

How do I send a wire transfer?


To request a wire transfer, visit a BMO Harris branch. The daily cut-off time for International Wires is 3:30pm CT and for Domestic Wires is 4:00pm CT.

To request a wire transfer by phone, you’ll need to complete a Wire Transfer Services Agreement. Once it’s processed, you’ll receive instructions and a PIN. We recommend this to customers who frequently initiate wire transfers or are not able to request wires in person at a branch. Pick up a Wire Transfer Services Agreement at a branch or call 877-696-7379. Visit our Security Center for more info.

How do I order checks?


To order BMO Harris checks online, log in to Online Banking, click on the "Customer Service" tab and select "Reorder Checks" in the Banking Services section. If you have a pop up blocker, you’ll need to disable it to complete your order.

Please note, there’s a fee for ordering checks. Refer to the Deposit Account Disclosure that comes with your account for more details.

How do I buy foreign currency?


You need to be a customer to buy foreign currency from BMO Harris. For same-day service, visit one of our 75 branches that sell select currency. If we don’t have the currency you want, you can order it by 2:00 p.m. CT and pick it up in 2 business days.

To order currency from more than 100 countries, you can go to the branch closest to you. Visit the BMO Harris Foreign Currency Exchange Services page for more info.

    Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act (SCRA)

    The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) is a federal law that provides protections for military members as they enter active duty. This law protects your financial and legal affairs while you are on active duty military service. For example, SCRA requires your creditors to provide certain relief from debt that you incurred before entering active duty. It also suspends some legal actions against you if the action will interfere with your military service.

    BMO Harris Bank is committed to providing services and protections to members of our military and has teams of colleagues dedicated to providing assistance.

    The products covered under SCRA:

    • Mortgage loans
    • Home equity loans and lines of credit
    • Automobile and RV loans
    • Motor Vehicle Leases
    • Overdraft lines of credit
    • Credit cards
    • Personal loans and lines of credit
    • Business purpose loans to sole proprietors, with personal guarantees, or individual liability

    Note: SCRA does not cover deposit products, such a demand deposit accounts or savings accounts.

    SCRA benefits are available to:

    • All active duty service members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard
    • Activated reservists
    • Commissioned officers of the Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association
    • National Guard members called to active duty
    • The spouse and dependents of active duty service members

    SCRA benefits include:

    • A maximum interest rate of 6% for the period of active duty

      • The interest rate cap protection is one of the major benefits of the SCRA. If you are eligible for SCRA benefits, the interest rate on debts you incurred prior to your military service will be reduced to 6% per year and the required payments will also be reduced to reflect this lower interest rate.
    • No Past due fees, annual fees, or other eligible fees for the period of active duty

      • Transaction fees on balances incurred after active duty are not covered
    • Protection from foreclosure or repossession of collateral unless a court order or written waiver is obtained
    • The option to terminate a motor vehicle lease without an early termination fee if certain conditions apply
    • Additional state law benefits may be available and vary by state.

    Note: SCRA benefits expire 12 months after active duty has expired on all mortgage products.

    Payment Obligations

    Payments are still required on accounts enrolled in SCRA benefits. We may report information about your account to credit bureaus. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected on your credit report.

    SCRA Eligibility

    If you are an active duty Servicemember and have not already been granted SCRA benefits, you should contact us so that we may assist you in determining eligibility. Your request for SCRA benefits must be received within 180 days of the end of your active duty period in order to qualify. Benefits will be applied retroactively to your account, if applicable.

    At least one of the following documents must be obtained or provided in order to establish eligibility for protection under the SCRA.

    • Certificate from the Defense Manpower Data Center – SCRA Website with active duty dates (obtained by the SCRA Advocate Team)
    • Deployment orders
    • Letter from a commanding officer that includes the following:

      • Drafted on official letterhead
      • Contact information for the officer writing the letter
      • Your full name and Social Security number or date of birth
      • The period of military service and either that the service is indefinite or the date on which the military service ended or is scheduled to end
    • Guard/Reservists call to duty or active duty orders
    • Enlistment or initial active duty for Training (ADT) orders
    • Annual training orders, including amended annual training orders, for Reservists and National Guard
    • Temporary Change of Station (TCS), Temporary Duty (TDY) and Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) orders
    • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders
    • Extension or continuation orders
